1. How would you rate your thanksgiving dinner? Surprisingly good! I tried a new method for the turkey, and it was fall-off-the-bone tender. The butternut squash and apple casserole was especially yummy (I'll post that recipe later...it's healthy!).
2. Did anyone come that you wish didnt? Nope
3. How many people showed up, and how many were you expecting? My mom had the flu, so she asked if I would mind if we didn't do Thanksgiving dinner this year. So, it was just myself and the two avians (unless you count the 10,000 people who ran the Turkey Trot in the morning).
4. What was your favorite dish? Definately the butternut squash and apple casserole
5. Were you on clean up crew or the one that just kicked back? Umm, I was the clean up crew. Birds don't do dishes!
6. Who was the funniest one there? Alex, the sun conure
7. Who was the drama queen? Rudy, the quaker parakeet
8. Will the same people come over on Christmas that came on Thanksgiving? Oh yes, they spend all of my holidays with me, even when I travel
9. Did you play music or watch the football games? The new Christmas cd from Starbucks
10. Any drinking involed? Just water and coffee
11. Anyone get out of hand and had to put them in their place? Only Alex, when he decided that cauliflower belonged on the floor, rather than in his food dish
12. Who did you talk the most with? Alex
13. Did you feel out of place at all? Nope
14. Will you start decorating for Christmas on Black Friday? Probably the following week, as I was wrapping Secret Santa gifts on that Friday
15. Did you go shopping on Black Friday? Only at the very end of the day, after swinging past the post office
16. If so, What time did you get out of the house? 8 pm
17. Was anyone new at Thanksgiving dinner this year? Nope
18. Did you miss anyone for thanksgiving/if so who? My family
19. Whats the next thing you do right after thanksgiving? Start training for the Boxing Day 10-Miler...it helps me work off the turkey and dressing.
20. Anything eles you would like to add about your Thanksgiving? I'm thankful for having found this group on LJ!
What you do is tell them all the meds you take and it lets you know if there are any potential risks of mixing them. I was looking for something like this in the past, now I feel alot better knowing my meds are ok together :)
I know whining isn't going to make anything better, but have any of you NOT realized how much weight you've gained. *sighs* I was going through highschool pictures ( I was heavy then) but.... sighs.... yes, I suck. Granted this was 5 years ago....
I would GIVE to look like that again..... I'm SO discouraged. From a size 14-16 to now a 18-20-22? *sighs* I'm not looking for Pitty really..... I promise, I am just venting. Good Times.
Mom's wedding (and thanksgiving) is tomorrow and I am running around like MAD trying to get all this stuff prepared. I am currently making a 12inch 3 tier wedding cake, green beans, and macaroni and cheese, AHHHHHHHHHHH!
Hopefully all the food wont make me gain a bagillion pounds and I will be back to the YMCA on Monday, maybe even sooner if I can convince the hubby to hold the fort down...grrrr
Today I went to the gym for the first time this week and got in 40 minutes and 8.3 miles - not as much as I would have liked but for some reason my leg hurt so I let it go a little bit. I plan on starting the classes hopefully sometime this week, they look kind of fun! :-)

Weekly Theme: Knowing you have support when you start your weight loss journey is important. Lets talk about where we find our support. Do you feel you get enough support from those around you? How did you go about finding the right type of support for you? How do you try to support others that are on the same journey as you are? Have there been times when someone tried to support you so much, that it felt like they were stepping over the line?
Sadly, I don't get anywhere near as much support as I should... my parents support me but them being in America doesn't really help when I'm 10,000 miles away. So I do my best with what I have... I've pretty much joined this community and up4thechallenge, I find both communities a bit of support. Makes me feel... I guess like I'm doing a good job, some online friends help too and of course my husband... but it's hard when we're both stressed from our child. I try to support people by giving them advice if they need it or just plain telling someone they did a good job is a good way of making people feel like you care. I mean, it really helps, even a few words make someone feel better - I know it does for me... anyways, being in these communities really makes a difference and reporting my miles it just makes me feel good that I was able to accomplish something that sometimes it doesn't feel like I can even get out of bed let alone anything else.
Oh, something that happened the other day (Friday) I was on the rowing machine and a personal trainer came up to me and told me that I was doing a great job, and that consistency is the key... that made me feel REALLY good! :-) It made me write down all the classes she runs so I can be in her classes - even though her classes look like fun I know I'll feel good about being in her class and not less than the people that are much more fit than me at the moment.
Many of us have been on this journey for a while and we have had a backslide into that not so good place. What are the things that have happened in your life that shook the cob webs away and got you back on the wagon. Was is a comment someone made. Was it a piece of clothing you found. What made you shake the dust off your running shoes and get them back on your feet.
I hope everyone has a great week. For those the celebrate Thanksgiving this week, I wish you a friend and family filled holiday you will remember. For those that don't do Thanksgiving, celebrate yourself this week. Do something nice for you that you haven't done in a while.
Weekly community goal: I thought this week we could do an exercise challenge. The old record for exercise minutes was 1800 minutes. Let’s try to break that with 2000 minutes.
